This was a great snow for the Ozarks, I can remember back in the 70's you would see the Ozarks get 2-3 feet with certain storms.

The boys have updated - No changes:

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM SATURDAY MORNING/...
Snow will continue to move across the region through tonight.
The heaviest snow will be this evening. Snowfall values have not
changed a lot and still have generally around 2 to 4 inches for
this event. Continued the winter weather advisory. Most of the
accumulating snow will taper off by the end of the near term,
however some snow showers will be possible after that time into
the short term.

&&

.SHORT TERM /6 AM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT/...
There will be the potential for some wind gusts around 20 to 25
mph at the stat of the short term Saturday morning. Some
residual snow showers will be present for the day on Saturday
and then tapering off by evening. Cold weather will continue
with temperatures expected to stay below freezing on Saturday.
Lows Saturday night will drop into the teens to around 10
degrees.

18Z HRRR and NAM still give CVG 3 to 3.5" of snow with that river action heading our way for the PM Commute and into dinner time. We will pick up our snow down this way in that 4 hour window. Then it'll wind down this evening. CVG Land the best has yet to come as I keep saying but it will get here. :)

Finally seeing a few bigger flakes mixing in with the smaller ones as the better returns move in and we saturate more of the DGZ. 300 MB jet has a nice piece of energy punching into the area and at 500 MB energy is moving NE into the OV after rounding the base of the trough. Dry slot at 700 MB pushing into Eastern KY so we won't have to worry about that this go around. Nice 850 Low over N AL. Too bad it wasn't over TN,

Looking nice out there and again forecast looks good. The extended shows a wonderful pattern and yes getting a January Thaw is normal and again with the snow in many areas of the east the Thaw takes longer and getting back to winter will be rather quick. Still way to early to talk about certain storms as we know with pattern changes we need to get this storm out of the way and then models will start to come together. Next week still cold at least until Thursday. Do we see 32 Sunday and again going to be close and if not maybe next Friday.
