I also like these lighter intensity systems for ground soaking in purposes as well as not washing away new plants. It's perfect!

Great Storm Talk. Brian mentioned chances for severe is low but its early June and any kind of clearing could help in bringing at strong or even severe storm.

Nice little heat wave for the northern plains this weekend with some area's getting close to 100. June through mid-July is usually their hottest time of year and with less humidity temps rise very quickly during the day. We may get a touch of that early next week with temps in the upper 80;s possible but looks like more stormy weather will help keeping temps in check.

Could not agree more Tim. So far, the pattern has been just when you think the heat and summer are going to take hold, another trough dives in to cool us back down and get us wet. The longer this continues, the harder the heat will be able to sustain itself this summer. We will have periods of heat, but you need a ridge to really allow the heat to sustain itself. As long as there continues to be a weakness on the western edge of the Bermuda High, we will continue to be prone to t-storm and cool air attacks. It remains to be seen how long this continues but I continue to see an active pattern in the long term. If it's warm, it is going to be humid with t-storm chances, like next week for instance.

Bat signal seen! Hoping for some boomers tomorrow. Not super amped about severe threat (isolated severe) but some nice booms are always welcome.

I'm in agreement with a marginal risk and leave it at that. Need some sun and less clouds and rain.

Yes Happy Birthday to Bgoney and Angela. Hope that this BD is the best ever. Back to the weather it really is a nice rainfall as its light to maybe moderate at times but plenty will soak in. I thought the system may push a little further north but again 1-2 should be good before it ends late Thursday.
Thank you!

Things look to be winding down across a good chunk of the area finally after a wet day for some folks. There are some t-storms to keep an eye on over Western IN and West KY but otherwise things should be much more scattered tonight. More likely action tomorrow as we see what happens timing wise with the actual upper trough. If we can see some heating then stronger storms are there. Otherwise, you get a lot of clouds and / or rain then the severe threat is obviously reduced. My thinking is the later.

Could make for quite an interesting contest for even i.e. how many times CVG gets 89'ed, Bro. :thumbupright:
