Summertime heat and humidity for now though, awfully muggy out . Quite the DP surge the next few days reaching well into Canada. Hopefully that portends to a area wide soaking next week

Hey all. Totally non weather post here but if anyone is interested in watching the walleye tournament live online you can!

Had a ball casting for walleye all week. Caught a crapload of perch. Northern.. huge gill and even some craw dads. Big ole pinchers on these dudes! Awesome eagle action. Gina... Saw one bathing early in the morning. Another dove in and caught a fish. Breakfast! I love it here. I need more money lol. It would be awesome to retire up here. Anyway...

Couple more hours then the weigh in. You can watch it online from either Masterswalleyecircuit.com. Or their Facebook page will also carry it via Facebook live. Live leaderboard.com off MWCs webpage if they can update live. Not always possible.

Weigh in starts at 3:30 central. My brother Larry and his partner Dan Johnson are due in at the check in boat by 4:15 central. Boat number 68

79 total boats for over 20k in cash and prizes. This ain't no chicken feed lol. Plus team of the year is crowned. That is a hole nother prize package. Top ten is the goal for that. Two day event.

Thanks all! Hope they can find those 17-19 in. Only, two over 20" allowed. 5 fish limit. Min size limit of 15". Pre fishing we got 1 over 5 pounds, a dozen overs. Lots of shorts. The keeper fish are only in certain spots. Other wise it's little ones, perch city or the line cutting ✂️ northern.

I'm ready to track fall. And a possible early start to winter next week. Gonna be busy working and some Dr appointments... But we'll chat weather for sure!

The time for everyone to come together and join our wonderful forum is now! If any of our old crew isn't here yet let's get em in. We always welcome new friends too! :)

Mike you are correct. Very short-lived but not a surprise this year lol. Good thing is next Monday-Wednesday the chances of some widespread rains are likely and this could be over an inch for most folks unlike this past system which gave some folks over 2 inches and others like myself just a ground wetter. After that the first major cool front of the fall season and I am so happy. Once you get that first decent cold front this time of year it really makes it hard to see the 80's with humidity and yes you can hit 80 again but usually that is with much lower dew points.

Getting more interesting next week with modeling . Eu cutting off a low near OV resulting in double the QPF for the region compared to GFS . Either way a decent soaking for much of AVland Tues/Wed.
If you haven't done so yet, get that grass seed down!!

12z runs unchanged. GFS moves the rain through by Wednesday morning and EU keeps the meandering low in the OV a day or so longer , at least doubling qpf amounts compared to GFS.

Another brief shower and of course the car was washed today. Seems like if someone sneezes it rains at my house. I like for most folks to get near an inch before the rain is out of here which could be noon on Wednesday or could last a little longer depending on how fast the low moves out. Saw winter weather advisories for parts of Alaska which is nothing knew for this time of year.

Looking great for an area wide beneficial soaker over the next 3 days. 1-2.5" for most with isolated spots near 3". September soils should have no problem soaking it up . Overnight Tuesday into much of Wednesday look to be when the majority should fall. Fall arriving right on que.

Good morning all! From summer, then rain to fall is the name of the game for us. I finally looked at a model, the GFS, for the first time in over a week and it is looking very troughy. I like it! :)
