No hail this time but heavy rain and some lightening and thunder. The upstairs is cold and once we broke the cap over us and to the west those storms were able to grow and we got a nice thundershower. Can no doubt tell the storm took some of the humidity out of the air.

Wasn’t expecting this much rain , .60” in half an hour, ground saturated again. Two warned cells back to back with hail.

Good Morning and Happy Easter!! Rain total from yesterday at my house 0.62. A narrow band of heavy rain yesterday from southeast Indiana through Norther Kentucky into southwest Ohio. Looks like a rather dry day in store though you can always get a pop up shower or two here and there but for most folks dry. Overnight and Monday chances of showers go up though not sure how much rain we will end up with so going 0.25 though that 4a-9a period always scares me and this is a time where rain totals can add up higher. Looks like a dry few days and then we can add more rain chances later this week and next weekend. All in all a typical end of April forecast.

Happy Easter to you all! Getting ready to head to Mass with Mom. A small chance this evening otherwise tomorrow afternoon is our best chance with the cold front. Then Thurs / Fri will be our next system. Highs in the 70s with lows in the 40s and 50s can be expected over the next week.

77 at CVG today, 78 here. A few scattered storms are possible this evening with the best chance coming in the morning with the cold front. A strong storm is possible but not expecting severe wx due to unfavorable timing with the cold front and lack of instability.
We have highs in the 70s, lows in the 40s and 50s next week with our next rain chances coming Thurs thru Sat. Cooler and drier in the 60s for next Sunday.
In the longer term, expecting temps seasonal to above normal. I know BG is seeing a mid May cold signal but that is a little beyond my range at this time. I want to start planting my garden but you know it is still a couple of weeks, if not 3 weeks early climatology speaking for the Ohio Valley. I am holding off for now.

Hopefully models and ensembles will lose that mid May cold signal as time goes on. My sister and niece from NC are coming up to see my folks and I Memorial Day weekend e.g. so prayerfully it'll be mild.

Good morning all! Some rain and thunder are moving thru the area now thanks to a cold front. Amounts have been light thus far and after a few more hours, the game will be over until later on Thurs as far as rain goes. A nice Tues and Wed on tap. Late Thurs is our next shot for rain with Fri being the wettest day of the week. Lingering action on Sat with a very nice Sunday in the 60s! So a 50 / 50 weekend it looks like right now.

We're up to 70 now as the cold front moves into the Cincy Metro area as of this post. Wind has picked up IMBY as a result.

Good Morning and a nice stretch of warm air over the next 7-10 days and yes when a front comes through we get back to normal temps only to rise once again. This will finally put us above normal on the year with temps and of course still way ahead in terms of precip. Hopefully we continue to get some decent rain every week and though above normal for the year the next 2-3 months are so important in terms of rainfall. Not seeing any cold shots at the moment and yes saw Brian and one of his videos talk about a colder spell in mid-May but just to early in the process to say if that will occur and usually once you get into May and cold shots are brief and many times these are back door cold fronts from eastern Canada and the northeast USA where it just takes longer for spring to gain control.

Nice post Tim! The question for me and probably a lot of folks is this: Can we plant this early and take a chance or not? You know our local climate enough that it is a good idea to wait a couple of weeks just in case. If you want to take a chance, then go for it! It can be an expensive mistake. I currently do not see any frost in our future but that is only going out 7-10 days.

I’m going to for it Les, If the ground temps weren’t there for the taking I wouldn’t but since they are it’s worth a shot , probably 2 weeks ahead of schedule. I’ll do half of planting now and then the rest when I normally would. ( just in case)
