2.3 inches is snow officially at KDAY. Pretty remarkable for this time of year. The sun angle this time of year is the same as it is in late August.

Just had enough to whiten the grass and rooftops in my hood early yesterday, but it was gone in a flash. LOL

GFS and Euro continue the frost/freeze risk later next week. WED and THU of next week could potentially see morning temps at or below freezing esp outside of urban areas if the Euro is correct. GFS delays this until next Friday morning.

Snowed all day up here yesterday. Picked up a few inches on the grassy areas. It's gone now. Caught 13 yesterday. Biggest went 8 pounds! 30 knot Winds today so we won't be going out for obvious reasons.

We have certainly had our fair share of exceptionally miserable cold spring days and it needs to end , permanently.

I agree... Today, we saw periods of sun, clouds, snow, grapul and wind. Tomorrow looks like a nice day. Thursday, might not get out again if it's windy again, which the forecast is calling for.

Yes, I saw a national temp outlook earlier today on TWC and it showed for the OV i.e. below normal from April 26th to at least May 2nd.

Good Morning and looks like a nice today for some outdoor work. How about parts of western and northern North Dakota expecting another 6-12 inches of snow. Yes they usually get snow in April but we are talking about totals nearing 40 inches for the month in some areas and this also helps keeping colder air masses getting further south than normal this time of year as we know. Rainfall totals overnight will largely be influenced by the llg that may enhance the rainfall during the early morning hours of Thursday. I am going with .25 to .50 though will watch the time period from 4am-8am for any enhancement of the rainfall. How quickly does the rain move out and we are able to get some sun and that is a tricky question though folks to the south have a better shot. The front stalls and heads back to the north but will this give us some additional showers late Thursday and early Friday? Weekend looks great and though temps should get near 80 the humidity will not be bad at all. Another cold shot next week and maybe another after that for early May. Last several years we are getting a later start to spring but also autumn hangs on longer so is this just a bleep in time or is there more to this change of seasons in terms of timeline.

I was wondering if perhaps the extra snowpack up there may be partially responsible for our lingering miseries here. :) It does seems like the calendar is shifting - later end to winter and later end to summer/fall.

My buddy posted a couple pics of some smallies he caught up near Oxford in a creek yesterday. Had to laugh at his Facebook post, he said he'd been up there for a funeral and was fishing in the creek in his suit! just the mental picture of a guy in a suit and overcoat with a neon green fishing rod cracks me up.

Mike,I was wondering about that and if the LLJ picks up it may force those higher wind gusts to the surface.

I feel for my dad as he'll be leaving the house at 4:30 this morning to go to his sister's house in Anderson, IN (an hour / 45 minutes away) to then get her to an 8 o'clock consultation appt with a spine specialist at OrthoIndy in Carmel (east of Indy). Showery and windy yuck along the route.

The wind laid down some this afternoon and it got up into the 60s today! Only 50 tomorrow with some afternoon showers. Supposed to be in the 70s on Saturday for day 2 of the tournament. 136 boats total in this event.

Good Luck Les. The best I ever finished was at Red Lobster where I caught 2 lobsters out of their tank.

Beautiful day in storm once the fog and light mist leaves. A very nice weekend ahead with temps near 80. Not quite as high with the temps that models showed a few days ago as the southeast ridge not quite as strong. Could see some showers later Sunday most likely after dark but could start to see some higher clouds in the afternoon. Monday and Tuesday looked terrible once again but need the rain but not sure how much is going to fall but one thing for sure is those darn winds will be picking up once again.

Tim, great to be reading your posts again. Can't seem to Get out of this pattern of dominant cold shots with a few warm days mixed in. The warmth these next few days will be most welcome to help dry things out. No rain needed IMBY as the constant cold and cloudy days don't allow any drying even though we may be below normal in precipitation.

Hey Bgoney, was quite busy for about a month but lucky I guess in some sense because I was either in Orlando,Greenville or here and each place the weather was nice except this past week here. Got the yard in shape in Greenville, working on mine and also my daughter's at the moment. North Dakota and wow even for them an extreme April in terms of winter weather. This has also allowed the systems to continue and pick up colder air and bring it somewhat further south than normal this spring and why we can seem to shake the cold. Have a few more cold days next week and then maybe one last shot in early May but they tend to focus more on the northeast and we could see one of those days where its 50 in Columbus and 70 in Louisville. After that shot I believe we should be okay concerning frost.
