Tigers are losing 6-0 in the 8th inning so it's pretty safe to say we've lost the game and the series. Next up for the woeful Tigers is a series against the White Sox in Detroit. First pitch is Monday night at 7:10pm with Rony García.

Redlegs beat the Diamondbacks 5-3 yesterday in 12 innings (it was 0-0 after 9) - now only 16 games below .500!

Mahle with an absolute gem - 9IP 0ER 12Ks but a no decision,

Tigers aren't much better, 13 games below 500. Why do we keep posting in this thread with such losing ball clubs, is beyond me.

How about this stat - typical of the Reds LOL

Tyler Mahle of the @Reds is the only MLB pitcher in the modern era to throw 9.0+ shutout innings with 12+ strikeouts and no walks on the road and yet not get the win.

Sounds about right for the Reds and Tigers both!

Glad the guys were able to pull it out last night in that midnight+(EDT) oil burner! :)

Luis Cessa almost gave it away (2 wild pitches in a row i.e.!), but thankfully Joel Kuhnel saved the day. :thumbupright:

Luis Castillo takes on Zac Gallen in a Business Day Special rubber match at 3:40 Wed.

Got destroyed 13-0! I don't know if I can continue posting in this thread for the remainder of the season. The Tigers were so bad one year if you recall, I did stop. This is the worst I have seen since the MLB record setting loss season of 2003. It is that bad.

The TX Rangers come to Motown tonight at 7:10pm. Beau Brieske will pitch for Detroit. Can we at least take 1 game in this series? Sheesh!

A historic night for the Houston Astros last night - TWO immaculate innings tossed in the same game. First time in MLB history.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/astros-bec ... 51674.html

For those that don't know (including myself), an immaculate inning is a pitcher striking out all three batters they face on 9 pitches (3 each). They have to be the pitcher to lead off the inning I believe (like not replacing anyone else in same inning)

Oh wow! Awesome! I didn't know that either. The more amazing stat is that both pitchers struck out the same three batters both times!

If it wasn't for crap fest ownership like Bob and Phil Castellini the Redlegs would really be going on the UP and UP!

Its their extreme stubborness that's hurting fans the most. Bob likes to make excuses like re reduced beer and snacks sales as a weak alibi for having fire sales.

Have to wonder if he and Phil will be selling away more players at the late July deadline after their spring training fire sale?

I like baseball as another hobby besides weather observing, but yes its sad to see both the Redlegs and Tigers struggling so much at least half, if not most, of the time.

Tigers problem is that have a horrible GM in Al Avila that they won't fire. They need Management and Front Offices changes as bad as the Reds do. Bad trade deals and fire sales are also issues as well as a depleted farm system at the minor league level. That is starting to improve now, but will take a few more years to get it back up to par. Until you have something of value, you're not going to get good players.

Cincy got swept for the 2nd time by Milwaukee this season as the guys lost 6-3 on Sun.

Schedule doesn't get any easier as next is a 3 game series vs the West-leading Dodgers to round out the home stand.

A day off Mon and then Tyler Mahle squares away vs Tony Gonsolin at 6:40 Summer Solstice Tues.
