I have a small driveway and we just decided to say screw it. Not even going to bother
Ours is a medium sized driveway and I gave it my best shot. Still lots of sleet caked to the pavement but I got the snow removed and some salt down so we can at least get out if we need to.

I made a pass or two with the shovel. Got some snow off. Thick, solid sleet. No thanks. I'm waiting until March to get out.
My street is very bad. Cars come down the hill and get stuck. Had a semi with no trailer earlier get stuck. After blocking the street for an hour he got out. It has been an entertaining couple of days with this storm here!

I was able to remove the sleet fest last year with some sweat and elbow grease. There's so much more here and this stuff fell with colder surface temperatures. I'm not going to throw a bunch damn salt down to melt thru this thick stuff. I'm going to let mother nature do it. Next week it'll be soft enough then I can get rid of it.
This is probably the most sleet I've ever seen accumulate at one time. Beats the hell out of last year's ping fest! Those will be my lasting impressions of this one. Ping City, cars / semi getting stuck, and can't shovel the damn driveway!

If you’re an elderly forum member or someone with a heart condition, please be careful. That ice is no joke.
Also avoid an injury like a hernia i.e. My mom got an umbilical hernia back in the 1980s when our family lived in NY state from chopping into ice on the driveway with a hoe.
She had it repaired some years later when we lived in Raleigh, NC.

Mood flakes flying and got another dusting overnight. It of course stuck to everything given the cold temps. Going to try and melt off the car again today. Will probably just have to let it run for thirty minutes

Found this on American. Doesn’t include a bit of the top fluff, but you get the picture.

2" of sleet here believe it or not only ranks 4th or 5th IMBY over the last 30 years. One big difference was that in all the other sleet events ahead of this one , there was much more snow locally just to my NW throughout CVGLAND. This sleetfest covered more real-estate locally than those

Just drove from Ripley to Beechmont and back. Roads are not good at all. 52 along the river once out of Brown County is rough.

My street is still in really bad shape too. KY having issues scraping the ice with the plow blades.

Things are good here for the most part. Couple rough areas down in Norwood earlier but Blue Ash/Montgomery/Deer Park are solid.

Still bad here. Plow finally scraped a bit more of the street for the first time since Thurs morning. Mail finally came too. No trash service as of yet.

Hi Trev,
When I measured yesterday afternoon an area of the front yard it was 5 inches and also did some in the back yard, but 5 was the most on my property.
Versailles (the one here in Darke Co) took 1st place with 10", Arcanum 2nd at 8.5", and Greenville 3rd at 6".
Another resident from G'ville had called in the report of 6" to WHIO7.

Hopefully your trash will get serviced on Mon, bro.
Our mail resumed yesterday and Rumpke came by this morning.

I just got done shoveling the top most portion of the driveway where the sun hits it and I'm done! Rest can wait until spring.
I can at least get out if need be.

This storm sucked. I'm alive but it was one of the worse storms I have dealt with. Getting phone calls from places that not been touched yet due to other contractors not showing up.
This is crazy.

A bull dozer finally came down this afternoon to clear the street completely. Looks much better now! Still no garbage service and they won't be back until Friday. So I'll have garbage sitting outside on my curb for a week now and will add more too it Fri morning. Mail service at least came back Sat. Been a very impactful storm here as well.
