Snow is moving in per radar but it is virga right now. This is due to dry air as Bgoney mentioned. Dews are still around 4 degrees. Central KY on south is reporting light snow. Our best chance will be tonight with the upper low as Trev mentioned. 1-2" per ILN. SPS is out for this too.
...LIGHT SNOW EXPECTED THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT...
Light snow showers will move across the region this evening and
into the overnight. While accumulations are expected to be
generally around an inch, the snow may cause some slick spots on
roads, especially untreated ones, as well as bridges and
overpasses.

It's making it to the ground to our west. We should see some nice bands of light to moderate rolling across the tri-state this morning.

Nothing IMBY or on the drive into Mason. The road crews aren't taking any chances. So much salt on my subdivision roads that it looks like it has snowed already! Beet juice on all other roads including the interstates,

All good... I'd rather it fall now then be done for the ride home. Then snow again tonight ahead of the drive in tomorrow. All about the timing you know.

Widespread 1" to 2" looks solid for tonight into Thursday morning. Locally higher amounts possible. Cold airmass is going to squeeze out every last drop of QPF.

I like that call for tonight but for this morning, radar to me looks like the snow shield is decreasing as the shortwave shears out and dry air eats it up. I'm not expecting much this morning honestly. But tonight I do think it's a different story as the upper low swings thru,

Tonight will definitely be the better opportunity for widespread snows. This morning is more banded. If you get a couple heavier bands you can pick up an inch or so. If not, dusting tops.

Yep that’s the dry air but it’s so cold aloft that even a super dry airmass is still able to squeeze out snow.

Nice coating here on everything in Silverton other than main roads that are treated.
Certain models were definitely too far south with the snow.

Dew points coming up near Cincinnati as saturation occurs. Should see a bit better rates before things shut down for a while.

Same here in Mason and I agree. I was not expecting to see much this far north. Some models did not even show a flake for Mason and I'd est a nice covering now too. House cam's show that my driveway is completely covered now.

Yessir! Tonight should be even better. I strongly believe ILN should issue an advisory like LMK did. Many areas won’t hit 2” but it should be hoisted for impact.

For the past 2 days it has looked like our best chance would be for tonight. Totally agree,,,, ILN has us at 1-2" which is a good call and they mentioned no advisory yet due to timing not being during the PM commute. They got enough salt and brine out LOL We'll see if the data trends any stronger with the upper low today.

W/V Loop this morning shows the center of the upper low (500 MB closed low) over MN dropping SE. A dry slot out ahead of it, is working up the OH River Valley from the SW and that will shut the snow off later this morning. Late this evening and into the overnight is when snow showers will be moving in associated with the upper low.

I think their reasoning is BS. There’s plenty of third shifters, travelers, and truckers who drive at night. Plus there will likely be lingering slick spots into the Thu morning commute.
But ILN sucks so no surprise there. I swear they get worse by the day. They probably don’t like us over at OVWC cause we call them out and I know they see it.
