This may be the last one for a bit, he looked like he was in for a rough ride!
Edit, one more in the pattern now coming from south east, unless he was a take off.
Edit again, he made a tight left turn and is beating feet now for CVG. Sunday night you could tell when it was coming because they stopped taking flights.

Those were the strongest winds I’ve seen IMBY since we’ve lived here for 35 years. Had to be 70-80mph and lasted for 2-3 minutes . Sound was incredible. If the leaves were fully out my woods would have taken severe damage. I wish I would have filmed it but we didn’t even think about it, to consumed with shock and awe I guess

Good Morning and no damage here but the winds were strong to say the least. Heaviest rains to the southeast where the front has stalled for the most part and models did well as they kept pushing it further southeast over the past few days. Locally still raining in the southeast part of the area. What happens late today into early Friday as the two main short term models are rather far apart with the HRRR giving us some heavy rains while the NAM has rainfall to the northwest and both models are not changing since Wednesday. Looked at the 3 main models and they are much closer to the HRRR so going to stick with that model for later today.
Still believe after the rains end Friday morning we get a break and the round on Friday night imo may stay to our northwest though we could still get some rain but on the light side. Then later Saturday into Sunday morning could be the worse in terms of heavy rain as the main piece of energy will be moving through the area.
Received a little less here overnight and that is fine but still expecting 2-3 inches possible for the next round tonight. Then on Saturday into Sunday I could see another 1-3. Still going with 6-8 total but at the end of the day we get 5 inches or 9 inches but some flooding will occur with each round of rainfall.

Good morning! No damage here yet that I can tell. Wind was relentless when the storms came thru about 12:30am. CVG picked up 0.95" of rain so far with this event. The rain is south of us but the front is not. Still very humid and in the 60s this morning. The rain shield will come back north this afternoon and drench us again tonight. You can see the next low forming out in OK which will ride NE along the front today.

Good Morning Les and yes the front has stalled and we will be on the warm and muggy side though not going to see 80 degrees. The rain to the south should lighten up during the day as well. Still believe tonight could be more about heavy rain then severe weather though you can still get a strong storm or two. The main low later on Saturday could bring both severe weather and heavy rains

I agree Tim. The severe threat for today and tonight has dwindled. It'll be a heavy rain event now. Fri has us in a marginal risk, with a slight risk on Sat as the main low comes in (which you pointed out). 6-8" is the call. 0.95" so far, about 5" more to go to make our forecast. This is a forecast that I hope busts.

I agree Les and if the total is more like 3-4 I believe that is manageable over 4 days though you can always get flash flooding with a couple hours of heavy rain. Getting into the 6-8 though becomes more of a problem and much bigger problems for some of the rivers. Concerning Saturday and the path of the low is important but also what happens Friday night. If we get some decent rains overnight that may help somewhat with the severe side later Saturday but if are mostly dry and then have the atmosphere reload then the severe threat goes up.

Hi Dave,
Those warnings got confusing because I checked back on the NWS site and it showed a tan-colored strip in Darke Co. for a severe t-storm warning but no red-colored one for a tornado. Mom and I e.g. were wondering that same thing. She had the TV on all night watching the local media updates.
She had a doc appt this morning and of course is tired so she'll be having a nap this afternoon.

I ended up sleeping in about an hour since I work from home on Thursdays. Would've liked to get up and get it over early today, but just couldn't after last night. Glad y'all are OK though, and everyone else for that matter.

A quick update from the boys as of about 45 mins ago:
.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 PM THIS EVENING/...
Morning update...
Only change to the near term forecast was to remove all mention of
thunderstorms for the next few hours given current radar trends and
environment. Through the afternoon, thunderstorm activity moves in
from the south, providing renewed chances for thunder. Otherwise,
maintained the highest PoPs in the far south and southeast with
continued light to moderate rain.

Quite the wind event as things passed through! We fared okay, but I saw a few houses around with a pieces of trim hanging and needing some repairs. Lots of branches scattered, mostly pine as no leaves yet.
Other family members are dealing with power outages; looking at Duke's map there are a lot of them and vary scattered. I fear they may be in the dark for a while.
The Whitewater River was at its banks and starting to flood some fields this morning. Concerned about the precipitation yet to come.

My Brother has been without power for the last 12 hours. He works from home, so can't work today. No school for the kids either due to lack of power at the school and some roads are closed too due to downed trees in the area., Sounds like the Milford / Day Heights area got hit hard.

Looking like a wet PM commute ahead as our next batch of rain enters Western KY. The rain shield with embedded storms is working its way right up the OH River Valley towards the Tri-state.

TREMENDOUS frontogenic forcing to our SW. The heavy rain threat is going to be a big deal later today into tonight once the lift and forcing arrives here.
