29 / 26 with a whole lot of pinging action going on here! If guidance is right, once we change to snow, I expect light snow to continue thru a good chunk of tomorrow. Like 4-5pm I am hopeful for.

CVG is reporting a light snow and light sleet mix now and 29 degrees as of 12pm. Must be a few flakes starting to mix in there. It's pretty much sleet here. 850s are too warm and we are still seeing WAA at 850 MB so it's not going to changeover to snow here IMO anyway for several more hours. I just don't see us changing to snow at 1-2pm like those Euro runs or GFS runs had.

Local 12's radar shows snow over me but it's sleet here I can assure you so don't like the precip type on radar fool you. Still need ground reports. Bgoney, I think it was you who posted it earlier, any change on radar in the sleet / snow line?

Les still mainly frz/rain here and some light sleet but not much. What sleet that was on the roads the crew came by and scraped that off so just a sheet of ice on the roads. Btw level 2 snow emergency for both Boone and Kenton Counties.

Ok, back to predominately snow now - and this time I'm being honest with you!
Awesome to hear! Now the storm really begins for your neck of the woods. If you are snow at this point and stay all snow the rest of the storm you will definitely not be disappointed.
30 minutes of snow is all I could muster. Switched back to sleet and now nothing. :screaming:
Your lull in the precip should be short lived. Very heavy returns are moving up from the southwest. Once the heavier returns come back to your area I'm guessing you will be snow.

Great Map and pretty darn close I believe to the true precip types. I live about 3 miles south of I-275 in Kenton County and it shows I am on that border between frz/rain and sleet and Les who lives in Burlington shows he is in the sleet department.

Next hour or two you should start seeing more sleet. Sleet / ice line is so close to your hood, within a few miles.

I can see some light snow trying to mix in. We're like at half sleet, half snow here so it's trying. Need to drop another degree or two upstairs then I'm in!

Thanks Bgoney! It's still a good ways away then.

Now back to mainly sleet again lol At times a few flakes try and get going so it is probably due to higher relativities on occasion moving thru.

If you loop through the correlation coefficient out of Indy, it really hasn’t moved since 9:30 this morning. It seems it might have drifted northward until 11 and then started dropped south in the past hour but I think it’s wishful thinking as I want some snow.

SPC Mesoanalysis shows a 1042 MB high over MN (Iowa and it would have been an all out snow storm for us lol), with a broad weak low around 1012 MB over LA stretching into Eastern MS and NW AL. It is elongated and not very organized. Front is banked up along the Apps which is perfect. Pressure falls map shows this to be an Apps Runner (the weak low that we're going to get) with weak pressure falls now entering our region. So 850s should begin to crash later this afternoon once that feature passes.
