No doubt the birds are very busy and eating the fruit off the pear trees. Probably had 50 birds in the back yard this morning and they have been busy since about noon yesterday.

No sleet here but the frz/rain has picked up which is not a bad thing in terms of icing. May be a temporary uptick or the atmosphere trying to switch things over to sleet.

After a brief lull, back to heavy sleet - no matter how hard I stare at it trying to make it look like snow!

850s stay warmer a little longer on the 12z NAM versus 6z which keeps us icy (sleet) longer.

Things starting to freeze over here, conversation with neighbors saying they see a glaze on the trees (I'm up in our "home office" on our landing).

Still 32 degrees. I need to move north, living in SE "Sleet King" Cincy is killing me as a snow weenie. :screaming:

The nam is running. We talk about how its nice to see a low not getting to strong to push to much warm air further north. However we need the system to gain some strength in the Tn Valley which will push milder air on the east side of the storm but also bring in colder air on the western side. This should happen this afternoon but how strong is this system going to get. If the storm remains at the current strength then you can cut those snow totals way down but if we get a stronger system then that can help in the snow totals. Which way is this going and at the moment the low is trying to close off but its not having an easy time. Going to watch the pressures south of us over the next several hours and maybe that will give us a clue on how the late afternoon and evening may play out.

Latest HRRR run has NKY in the freezing rain zone for the next 8 hours. If that verifies this is not going to be fun.

Mark, that is something I have great concerns about this morning. Going to watch the nws and see if they decide to add the ice storm further north. At the moment my guess is they must be looking at this carefully.
