Not too excited about chances up in my hood today - you know the drill, anytime you get scattered garden variety storms I almost always get missed. Actually liking tomorrow afternoon/evening better. We shall see! Now watch me get hammered today and missed tomorrow! Or more likely, missed both days!

I took a walk last evening; went around 8:30-9:30, it wasn't terrible humidity-wise or anything. We had rumbles around where I live, but never any rainfall there. It's hot for sure, but at least it wasn't a sweat bath out there so that was good. Looking forward to some rainfall though, my potted plants on my front porch have been getting scorched.

More rain here this morning. Still mowing twice a week and the grass is high when I mow plus some areas underneath trees remain wet for sometime.

I'm only mowing about once a week at this point, but that is fairly recent, I was mowing twice a week for much of May and June.

Got hit with over an inch last night and getting hit once again this morning. I mowed Monday and will be doing that once again Friday and hopefully that is the day we remain dry and a little less humid. After that expect the muggy weather to return and chances of rain are higher than normal for mid-July.

Rain is over... but guessing a tenth of an inch or so. It was light, nothing heavy but at that rate, every drop should soak in.

EDIT: 0.24" at the Boone Co mesonet site to my south. Very little at CVG.

12Z Euro has spotty chances today, likely coverage tomorrow and again over the weekend - both days. Sunday has higher rainfall amounts on thus run versus Sat.

So far in July at CVG 0.52 inches of rain has fell. The normal for the entire month is 4.03 inches. I believe with the pattern shaping up that we could surpass the 4.03 before the 16th of the month. We know rainfall is tricky in the summer especially with scattered showers and thundershowers. The difference with the upcoming pattern is the tropics are wide open plus low pressure to our west that slowly moves this way. If this were to be the case then any extended heat would not happen and the only thing above average would be the overnight lows.

For once I am happy for the dome. Hard to believe but to much rain in my backyard. Hope everyone gets a good 2-4 inches over the next week but for me 1 inch would be just enough.

Active (on and off) is the name of the game for the next 10 days at least on the 18Z GFS. The Dome will hold tonight so we'll try again tomorrow. Thankful for that shower I got earlier. The gradient was sick on that thing! From 0.24" at the Boone Co mesonet site to about a tenth of an inch here to a trace at CVG. I mowed today (wasn't wet at all) in anticipation of The Dome busting wide open sooner or later. Tomorrow and this weekend offer up solid chances... scattered chances for most of next week too.
