Quite a few celebrity deaths in the last week. Peter Marshall, long time Hollywood Squares host and today, long time talk show host Phil Donahue, just to name a few.

I enjoyed watching Hollywood Squares e.g.
Also although didn't get agree with Phil Donahue politically, I found some of his televised talk show episodes interesting.
And the decades of love that he and his wife Marlo Thomas poured into and that she continues to do via St. Jude Research Children's Hospital(s) for kids with cancer and their families.
For a time Phil had resided in Centerville, OH south of Dayton and was also a radio host with WHIO7.

If I recall Phil and Marlo were both pretty heavy smokers. I wonder if Phil died of lung cancer?

Singer-songwriter and actor Kris Kristofferson passed away Sat at 88.

There was another death too. The actor who was on Days of our Lives since the 1980s and played the character John Black, and his name was Drake Hogestyn. He died at age 70, 1 day shy of his 71st birthday from cancer.

Reds legendary Hit King Pete "Charlie Hustle" Rose passed away on Mon at 83.
My Dad and Pete were both born in 1941 a month apart, Pete on April 14th and Dad on May 14th.

Actor John Amos passed away at 84 on Aug. 21st of natural causes but news of his death came out today.
He was known in the starring role as James Evans Sr. the patriarch on the hit series "Good Times" and as the older Kunta Kinte in the Alex Haley classic mini series "Roots" e.g.

Pete Roses's cause of death has been released and was a combination of Hypertensive and Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease with a significant condition of Diabetes Mellitus.

Game show host Chuck Woolery has passed away at 83 at his home in Texas. I also remember him having hosted "Home and Family" with Christina Ferrare.

My fav game show with Chuck was Scrabble! He was also very famous for Love Connection too. Chuck was also a very outspoken and major conservative politically. He had his own pod cast on the internet for the last several years.

CBS Sports broadcasting legend Greg Gumbel passed away Friday at his home in Davie, FL at 78 from cancer.
He has a brother Bryant Gumbel who is also a TV journalist / sportscaster and was co-host of NBC's Today for 15 years.

I admired former Pres Carter's faith as well as First Lady Carter's and other family members of theirs. And also their humanitarian work through the years as well as Pres Carter's service to our country during his Navy years.

I read where there was a prescription bottle and some scattered pills on a counter near where Hackman's wife's body was.
