YUMMY! I had salad also and used some fresh basil and oregano from the spice rack outside.
I love fresh spices and how flavorful they can make a dish. I cannot wait until the tomatoes come in probably late this month or early July. Green beans also should be coming in by then as well.

Add cucs and zucs to the menu every night now . Toms looking good and healthy , a few have set on from a few weeks back.. But they'll be a small gap for toms , as when night time temps stay in the mid 70s , they won't set new ones

Couple of veggie updates... First pic is my bush beans. No beans yet but a lot of flowers.
IMG_20220623_175719657_MP.jpg
Next pic are my white half runners or pole beans. Tons of flowers on them as well. The tomato plants look great with a lot of flowers and at last check 14 tomatoes that I am waiting on for them to turn but no one has turned yet. Some of them are the size of softballs!

Everything looks spectacular Les. Pulling most of the lettuce and pea stalks as they have run their course. Taking it all to my niece who has a goat that will think it is a gourmet meal. Going to throw in a few more tomato plants in their place to hopefully extend the season. Getting more than enough cucs and zucs, already supplying the family with extras

Thanks! It sounds like you're having a great season so far as well!
Awesome! Last year I did great on beans but not so much on tomatoes. Hoping this year is different.

Good stuff, Bgoney! Awesome as usual coming from your hood.
On this end, I have little bush beans now and white half runners. Probably will have my first picking after my party sometime.
Also have 3 tomatoes turning as well.

Italian Peppers? Do you have a pic of those things? What is the flavor like? Years ago, I used to grow your standard green and red bell peppers. They were never ready until the fall. I had the plants so big that I had to put them in a tomato cage. The plants would fall over and break due to the weight of the peppers so I had to start doing that.
I used to buy the Bonnie brand that you'd get at Lowes or Home Depot.

Lol Les , that's exactly why I wanted to try different varieties, to see if I can get sweet peppers early. Still need to stake them , I haven't grown a pepper plant yet I didn't have to stake . This is the first year I've planted this variety and they are earlier. I picked one green to see what it taste like. It's sweet, not as sweet or strong a pepper taste as the green bells, but what the heck it's still the end of June. I'll let a few turn red or yellow as this will give the best taste, in the meantime I have sweet green peppers in june

I threw in some new seeds I bought called asparagus beans. These are pole beans, climbers, and the beans can get up to 3 feet long! Gonna try 'em! The seeds have already sprouted. This is my experimental late season crop to see if I like these flavor wise to expand growing next season. The bean color themselves will be purple so it'll look cool anyway.
Will keep those interested informed as the season wears on. I will be picking more tomatoes and regular bush and white half runner beans this week.
Starting to benefit from the spring planting now.

All out watering the garden tonight, last week's rains were not enough imby to last any longer. Will hold off know until this weekend for any more garden irrigating.
