Nothing in Columbus yet. With a dewpoint of 13. Looking at radar it's going to be awhile for here. We will see though.

It’s almost as if Santa Claus is bringing us a storm that checks off every lever in the “what we need to go right” list.

Nice bust for them and they got to love that and and yes somewhere later today a heavy band sets up near us but how long does this band continue. Do we see one that lasts say 3 hours or one that last 6 hours. How far will the sleet advance and again just something we watch and see if the short term models give us any clues but reports on the ground usually much better during the storm

Watching the HRRR model and it really has been the further north of the low pressure but keeps the low at around 1000 mb. Latest has just a bit further south and will watch to see if this trend continues or just a hiccup

I got the TB/NO game on but sort of going in and out watching the game. Will watch the afternoon games and hard to believe but the Bengals still in this and not sure about Pittsburgh but not sure they could beat anybody at the moment. When the coach an he is a very good coach starts blaming the QB we have a problem. Need to keep that in house. Back to the weather

Noticed a change in flake size in the past 15 minutes or so here in Eastgate. Definitely larger & more numerous.

Started snowing around 12ish here by MGY, but it's picked up in intensity the last 30 minutes or so. The dry air eroded a lot quicker here than the models, and ILN, were showing.

Mesoscale update from LOU:
.MESOSCALE...
Issued at 107 PM EST Sun Jan 5 2025
Snow band continues its northward crawl and will lift north of the I-
64 corridor by mid-afternoon. Snowfall rates and snow ratios will
decline as more sleet mixes in, but wintry precipitation will
continue nonetheless. The morning snow has been somewhat of an
overachiever, pushing on the high end of our official forecast
ranges. That official forecast won`t change much but our messaging
will start to focus on the higher end, with totals up to 6 inches
along/north of a line from Tell City to Danville, and over 8 inches
north of I-64.
Transition to wintry mix or even over to freezing rain is underway
as far north as Dubois County in Indiana, and up to Elizabethtown in
central Kentucky. Still expect some period of mixed precip during
the early/mid afternoon, though it might not be the 2-3 hours
previously advertised before we go over to freezing rain. Still,
additional "snowfall" will be limited to sleet for many, and the
duration of that sleet will make a difference in ice accumulations.
Forecast ice totals seem to be on track, as the only adjustments to
QPF are to move it through a bit faster, with a slight increase late
this afternoon and corresponding decrease this evening.

Last two days constant headache and once the precip started the headache is gone. In the summer i start to sweat about 30 minutes before a downpour of quick thunderstorm. I should probably join the circus

Yes it looks like light to once in awhile moderate until about 3pm then we should see a nice period of moderate to heavy snow. That 3p-9pm should be where we see the bulk of or snow total. Snow on Monday could still give us a few inches as well. How long do we stay in that frz/drizzle overnight before a return to snow. Forecast right on cue locally so far and lets hope that continues

Almost stopped here in Oakbrook. A small hole in the action, then it looks like some really juicy returns headed this way.
This is the TCVG radar, accurate very close, further out not so much.

Models, mets and forecasters will try to figure out snow totals but going to be busts both low and high. We know the bust on the low side in Louisville and where will the bust on the high side happen. Like a see-saw and we just watch and hope for the best
