Saw where cvg is adding 20 million $ worth of hangars and concrete. Probably raise temps another degree or two in the process

We have some decent CAPE over the Tri-state 1500-2000 J/kg. Low level lapse rates are decent too along the I-71 corridor. 12Z NAM and HRRR continue to show a broken line of strong to isolated severe storms pushing thru the area late this afternoon and into the early evening hours across the Tri-state. We shall see and good luck to all!

90 as of 4pm at CVG. I also hit 90. Scattered storms are around, good luck folks! Getting some thunder here and I have shot to pick up a downpour for the first time in weeks.

Good Morning and ended up with 1.12 inches of rain and give credit to my son who is in town for my niece's wedding. Big difference in rainfall totals as usual and this time I hit the jackpot. Not much to say about the weekend weather and picture perfect. How low do we go on Sunday morning and no doubt mid-40's but some outlying areas could get into the upper 30's. Next week will see big time temp raise everyday and with the dry grounds for the most part 30-35 degree between high and low is likely a few days. Looks like it will be late in the week or weekend before humidity levels go up.

Good morning all! Rainfall totals here varied. Little by CVG and the S part of the county got the goods. CVG got 0.07" I got 0.15" and the Boone Co mesonet site got 0.62". Low here was 51, CVG 52. I expect most folks to be in the 40s the next couple of nights. I agree with Tim that an isolated upper 30 degree reading in the cooler, sheltered rural valleys is indeed possible.

Here are the record lows for 9/8 which will come close tomorrow morning.

CMH 39 in 1951

DAY 42 in 1898

CVG 44 in 1956

Otherwise, no rain in sight and as a result, temps will skyrocket again next week. Expecting upper 80s to around 90 Wed thru Fri at least, potentially even extending into next weekend. Enjoy the cooler weather this weekend and on Monday because after that it's gone for a long while I'm afraid.

The only legit shot at rain would be towards the end of next week should that tropical wave in the S Gulf develop and track up our way just right. It's a long shot this far away but its the only hope I see. Otherwise, the drought will continue getting worse for everyone.

12Z GFS shows a tropical system bringing some rain our way by next weekend. 1/2" plus showing up. Better then nothing should it occur. Heaviest rains well to our SW and you can see how the system "dries up" and weakens as it moves in. We can thank the drought for that.

70 here today. We'll see how low we can go with regards to the wind overnight. It should be dropping off once the suns sets and we lose some heating and the high gets a little closer (currently well off to the NW). ILN has low 40s at CVG so that would be a new record if it occurs.

44 here so I have tied the record low. CVG checking in with 47 as of 7am and they have been holding there for quite a while. Probably will fall short officially thanks to UHI.
