I doubt today's clipper will help since its tracking further north then yesterday's. Dayton will see some snow today but probably small amounts again.

Re: Dual Clippers Sunday and Monday 1/23-1/24/22
Good morning all and we are tracking snow across our N counties once again. Could see a bit of snow for folks N of the river today. This afternoon with the cold front, a bit of rain / snow even down here is possible by late afternoon and evening but not a big deal is expected. No advisories in our forecast area for this event right now, only an SPS for our northern counties.

Light snow will move across the area today, with up to two inches

snow may result in a period of low visibility. Motorists should
use extra caution.

Super light flakes in Oxtown. With yesterday's snow, we are up to two dustings for the year. ugh

It is coming down at a steady clip here. Might get a dusting before it shuts down again. The band moving thru is not very big but will take it nonetheless.
EDIT: It is sticking nicely to everything.

Re: Dual Clippers Sunday and Monday 1/23-1/24/22
Update from the boys:
PoPs will continue to increase from west to east across our
northern two-thirds CWFA as isentropic lift occurs with
associated clipper system. Based on current radar and recent
hi-res model trends, the highest accumulating snowfall does
appear most likely for locations along and north of I-70. Snow
totals gradually lessen as you move towards the Ohio River,
where only a trace to a few tenths of an inch are expected. The
morning hours will offer the best period for accumulating
snowfall before warmer air intrudes the lower levels of the
atmosphere - which could allow for rain to mix in as far north
as the upper Miami Valley and southern parts of the Columbus
metro by the afternoon.
As far as accumulations go, 1-2" will be possible in our
northern 2-3 tiers of counties - which includes
Franklin/Fairfield OH through Darke co OH and locations
northward. This east-west line of counties marks the cutoff
where 1-2" seems probable, with locations further south
receiving less than an inch. Will have to closely monitor
surface temperatures for any freezing rain potential, but as of
now, locations receiving rain are expected to climb above the
freezing mark (and pavement temperatures remain above freezing
during the daylight hours). If any freezing rain/drizzle sneaks
in, it would likely be in the evening/early overnight hours
when the cold front is moving through and pavement temps dip
below the freezing mark. Have not included any mention of this
in the grids as confidence is low. Regardless of snow totals,
slick spots will develop for many locations and deteriorate
travel conditions.

Got a dusting out there now... driveway is covered. Street is on the sides, rest of it is wet due to old salt.

-It seems like the short range models struggled with the back-end energy of today's clipper. Maybe it's me. Either way, it won't amount to much.

The dusting I got this morning is melting. Probably will see rain / flakes as it ends with the cold front later this afternoon and this evening. The "big show" for us was this morning down this far south.rhodesman88 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 11:12 am -It seems like the short range models struggled with the back-end energy of today's clipper. Another glorious dusting out here in SE IN. Since the clipper train is off the tracks, I'm ready for a different pattern.

Another fluffy half inch here. Went to grab the shovel but I think the leaf blower will do the trick!

The system back in early Jan was like that for me. I did break out the shovel for the 15-16th event. Once this season, that's been it. Not even worth putting the plow on yet. I want something in that 4-6" + range to go thru all that.

Re: Dual Clippers Sunday and Monday 1/23-1/24/22
Like yesterday, just had a peak of sun here and we are above freezing down in NKY. Precip over ILL and IN ahead of the front is moving in this direction, will most likely be a cold rain / drizzle by the time it gets here. But if the precip rate is good enough, perhaps a little snow as well. Not expecting any issues until temps drop overnight if any water is left that is.
