Good morning! Our best chance for showers today is this afternoon with the upper trough moving in. Then a lingering shower tomorrow once we're on the backside and the system departs. Cool but dry Fri and Sat with showers becoming likely Sunday and Memorial Day.

I seriously hope that by sometime in June there's a pattern flip as nothing would be worse for summer than a cool and wet continued trend for outside activities lol. ;)

I think it does continue into early June at least. How far into June remains to be seen. I think this is going to be a tough pattern to break with the PV weak and not in its normal spot over the North Pole. We had a big SSW event in late March and that has resulted in the cool May we have seen as well as the PV being located over N Europe instead of the North Pole., As a result, cool airmasses from Canada can easily invade the lower 48. Until the PV state and location changes, this is likely going to be the pattern. A blocking type pattern that we would see in winter to be honest.

Def a low confidence forecast for the weekend. Fri and Sat should be dry but on Sunday, the GFS was looking wet, but the last couple of runs keep us dry now until Memorial Day. Will continue to monitor the guidance of course as time goes on.
