He was a heck of a boxer, infomercial spokesman, and an actor. I remember the short lived comedy "The George Foreman Show"

Legendary game show host Wink Martindale has died. He was 91. He was one of my favorites!

Pope Francis has passed away at age 88. He recently had a bout with pneumonia so his death was probably respiratory-related as a result of his lungs in a weakened status from that illness.

Upon further reading ...

Pope Francis died from a cerebral stroke that led to a coma and subsequent irreversible cardiocirculatory collapse. The Vatican announced his death on April 21, 2025. The Pope was also reported to have a history of acute respiratory failure caused by multimicrobial bilateral pneumonia, multiple bronchiectases, high blood pressure, and Type II diabetes

Hee Haw actress and gospel singer Lulu Roman has passed away at 78.

I remember her and Junior Samples e.g. doing comedy sketches together on that country western variety show. :)

Ruth Buzzi, a comedian who made more than 200 television appearances during a 45-year career, has died at age 88. You may remember her from Laugh-In with Rowan and Martin.

My folks, sister and I watched Laugh-In e.g. and I'll always remember those comedy sketches of Ruth's Gladys Ormphby character wearing a hair net and sitting in an oversized rocking chair. :) That was a tremendous comedy era overall and a golden age of television with many shows that were wholesome, humorous, and innocently thought-provoking. :)

Today's Generation X and their continued woke mindsets, sadly, would be 'offended' by that era.

I still enjoy watching e.g. Norman Lear-produced comedy-drama reruns to these days.

Speaking of Norman Lear, as you probably know, lived a very long life (101 years) and only just died in 2023. Anyway, some awesome clips from some of his shows in the 70s:
