Well a nice dose of rain this afternoon and the totals keep rising. Mid 80's in southern Kentucky this afternoon. I thought more of that warmth would be here sooner though we should rise into the mid 60's over the next several hours. Getting us in the warm sector may cut off the rain for most of the evening though you can get an isolated strong to severe storm but I believe its going to make us more unstable overnight and the storms to the west may have some staying power which could lead to more severe storms including tornado's. Then a break in the morning before it ramps up again later Saturday. How quickly does the front get here on Saturday because the later it gets here the LLG can ramp up again. So yes getting to 6 inches looking like it has a chance and 8 inches probably out of reach but again this is such a widespread amount of heavy rain that the rivers are going into flood stages with no problem.

Isolated cells are popping to our south, moving north. Meanwhile the action tot he west is slowly headed in our direction for overnight tonight. Some severe wx is possible tonight esp the further south one goes.

Good Morning its groundhog day again. Overnight Indy got pounder with heavy rain though locally we had some it was not to heavy though heard thunder a few times. Sort of a 1-2 punch with the first round this morning followed by one later in the afternoon. Good thing with the morning activity it should hold the severe threat down later today though not 100p/ clear but clouds and rain should help. How much more rain is the question and again these waves have a mind of their own. I am going with 1-3 inches before all is said and done later Sunday.

Good morning! CVG is up to 3.66" as of 8am this morning for the event total. We should easily tack on another1-2" of rain. My 6" mark by Sunday evening is going to be a close one!

What a washout of a day we have coming today.... and overnight tonight. Radar looking tough! It's going to be one of those stay indoors type of days.

I agree Les and really the 2 waves are back to back and maybe not much dry time if any between those two. Without the break 1-3 seems correct and some folks to the south of here could tack on 4-5 more inches. If this would have happened a month earlier with no vegetation to speak of and coming out winter this would have been worse. Have not heard from anybody concerning their basements or sump pump holding up. My daughter has a house that she rents out and it does have a sump pump and hopefully its able to keep up.

There's an estate sale going on this weekend in my neighborhood. I doubt very many will show up there today.

I looked out my window where an arboretum was dedicated last year here in our area but not close at all to my house and there's a temporary "lake" behind the arboretum.

UPDATE: Sure are some hearty folks because a handful are already at that sale! ;)

Actually hasn’t rained here since 7am. Clouds have thinned enough here to see silhouette of the sun

Good Morning and since Wednesday I am at 4.22 inches. I know Bgoney has been hit hard and folks just south me as well. Again do we end up with the 6-8 inches and some folks yes and the lowest amounts locally should be at least 5 inches.

Have had a nice break here this morning Tim, as the moisture on the eastern side erodes as it enters Ohio. I think the front is running a little slower moving east than models indicated .

Been raining lightly all morning here. The next wave is interesting with severe weather well to the south and not expecting no more than a few rumbles of thunder here and there. The biggest problem is where does that heavy rain set up just north of warm front in Kentucky. Sticking with 1-3 locally but towards I-64 3-5 seems very likely.

Out to the west there is no doubt a northward trend of the heaviest rain but when does that trend stop. Butler and Falmouth in Kentucky have mandatory evacuations starting at 4 and 8 pm.
