Be a little patient. The best part of this storm hasn't even began yet. I have a pretty good feeling you'll get your 6+ when all is said and done!

Not sure where you are, but if you’re south of I-70 6”+ is still very likely. The heaviest snows haven’t even hit yet.

18Z RGEM has 6" approaching I-70 then you drop off big time north of there. A foot for CVG - jackpot Cincy Metro.

Snow should be increasing in intensity as the afternoon and evening wears on. Better returns are about 30-60 mins away give or take on your location. Maybe 60-90 mins up by you.

A little donut hole down by Madison so snow will lighten up if not stop for a bit. But once that little hole moves thru the heavy stuff begins!

Finally came back north in line with other guidance. I was wondering when it would finally catch up lol.

Everything looks great and watching the returns down in southwestern Indiana. Where that tracks is going to be so important. Those returns are about as strong as you will see around here in a snowstorm.

what a storm on radar and to see how much snow is still going on all the way back in KC area on the back end. that all has to pull through the area. i can see people getting the higher end or more of the forecasted snow totals.

Why is this storm so interesting and the strength is nothing off the charts by any means. The amount of moisture is high and the cold air is perfect. Have no ideal what the final total will be but double digits look very likely. Next how cold especially Thursday morning and of course the parade of storms should continue.

QG forcing
Upward vertical velocity generated by low level convergence or upper level divergence.

You're welcome! I took that from NOAA.

Went out to do the first round of clearing my car off. Measured 3" on a flat concrete curb. Snow is quite fluffy . Not the best stuff for snowball fights, but I could hear some kids off in the distance apparently having a good time pelting each other.

I am expecting the snow to probably stop for me for about 30 mins give or take then it should be hammer time after that for a while. Debating if I should plow before the heavy stuff gets here or plow after work tomorrow and say the hell with it.
