SPC meso page for CVG has 850s at -4 currently and 925s at -7 so we're looking good for all snow for a while.

Foot plus bullseye for the Cincy Metro area on the 18Z HRRR. Snow then that little bit of sleet tonight then back to snow tomorrow. Forecast seems to be locked in so we'll see how the precip types and amounts play out.

Great news Les and you beat me to the punch. The HRRR had the low going the furthest north until the last few runs and then boom further south. That is a wonderful trend. Also you watch the radar in southern Illinois and the changeover from snow to ice keeps trying but the snow keeps winning the battle. That is another wonderful sign for us locally. Usually by this time in a storm we are trying to figure out what went wrong but not with this storm

Little Rock to Nashville to Middleboro, KY and into S WV. Let's see how that stacks up in the coming hours to what happens in reality. If we can get that track, double digits are guaranteed in my honest opinion by Monday evening.
Les, then we can post a double MC Hammer as this will be the first time many of us will have seen double digits since Mar of 2008 (with the exception of Feb of 21 where some saw 10 inches).

Per radar, the dry slot is punching up into Central MO so I am watching to see how that evolves as the afternoon wears on. WV imagery shows a nice upper low back over KS with the dry slot punching up into Central MO ahead of it as the surface low continues to deepen slowly over AR.

If we can get that Joe, it'll verify my forecast and I will no doubt post it! We'll know that answer tomorrow.winterstormjoe wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 2:45 pmtron777 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2025 2:17 pm Low over Central AR is down to 1004 MB. Does that include Warren and Montgomery counties, or will we get a bit less? Thanks, Les!

The heavy returns and qpf near Paducah will be the mother load for our region later this evening

4" with heavy snow in St. Charles from my aunt. They have had some on and off sleet too overnight and early this morning mixed in as the storm was evolving.

We have a couple inches in Fairfield so far. The electric shovel is fun and makes shoveling quick. We're going out every couple of hours so we can stay on top of it.

I've got the snow plow hooked up to the side by side so I'll wait for at least 5 or 6" lol That is awesome Ang! That does look like fun and good exercise too.
Re: January 5-6th, 2025 First Legit Winter Storm of the Season
Snow plow came down but currently not snowing here by eyeball measurement looks like 2 inches

Finally caught up to the 48 pages. Snowing pretty hard again here with most of the grass now completely covered. Going to try to go up the street to see what’s open for a couple of thing I want to get, my guess is a lot of places have already closed or getting ready to close. I just like driving in it for a short distance. lol
