79 / 73 at CVG. Back to overcast now in Mason. Visible does show a brief window of clearing in between our stratus deck and the blow off from the ILL MCS, now pushing into IN. There is an MD that has been issued for a 40% chance of a downstream watch to be issued for Central and Southern IN.

Latest radar loop shows that the MCS is still trying to hold together as best it can. Will continue to monitor. The 12Z GFS does show the Tri-state getting hit this evening. So we'll see I guess.

The SPC meso page shows SB CAPE values of 2000-2500 J/KG over our area. DCAPE values of 1500 J/Kg are pretty good for strong to severe wind gusts should the MCS re-intensify as the SPC is indicating. Effective shear values of around 30 knots are also present.

* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Far Southeast Illinois
Southern Indiana
Western and Central Kentucky

* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 155 PM
until 800 PM EDT.

* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph likely

SUMMARY...A developing cluster of thunderstorms should continue to
strengthen and pose a threat for mainly severe/damaging winds up to
55-70 mph as it moves east-southeastward this afternoon and early
evening.
