Re: We Haven't Had Enough...Let's Get Screwed Again! Feb 16-17, 2024
A steady light now now... big flakes too! That didn't take long. From the boys....
Bands of snow will continue to move across the region through
the evening hours and into the first part of the overnight.
Will likely see some 3 to 5 inches where the heavier bands set
up. The heaviest snow looks to be in the I-70 corridor and then
southward to southeast of I-71 corridor. Outside of this area
expect generally 2 to 4 and then Hardin county expect more 1 to
3. Will likely start to see more impacts going into the evening
hours as temperatures continue to fall and rates pick up over a
larger area.
A majority of the accumulating snow will end by around
midnight, however some light more isolated to scattered snow
showers will continue into the second half of the night.
Temperatures will also drop quite a bit into the teens and lower
20s. Some wind chill values may even dip into the single digits
by morning.

At CVG, we have to beat 4" to get the biggest snow of the season. Let's do this! Surface low continues to slowly get better organized over West Middle TN now down to 1008 MB. There is a chance. based on the latest pressure falls, that the low could move into extreme SE KY which means jackpot for Cincinnati. Mix / Snow line is currently situated just S of Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties in KY per SPC critical thicknesses. We continue to see wonderful WAA over TN and KY as well as 700 MB frontogenic forcing. That enhanced forcing continues to grow stronger as it sinks to the SE. It will be pound town around here very soon! PWATS have risen now to 0.5" and we have outstanding EPV maximized to our SW. All in all this is absolutely looking like an overachiever in some areas to me. I like 2-4" for many of you. There will be isolated 5" totals 100%.

It is really coming down nicely! How are you doing over there? We just need the temps to drop a bit more so we can start to see some stickage on the grass / car tops. The direction that the flakes are falling I might add is from the NE and that is always good for our area.

Good Afternoon and this morning the snow was coming down heavy and dense fog this morning in western Indiana and eastern Illinois. About 1 1/2 hours in the snow and loved it. Plenty of snow on the ground here in Wausau and its cold. I will be watching the ongoing event at home and glad to see winter has made it back finally

Enjoy and jealous but again I needed to leave the area so the snow could fall. If I knew that I would of left just after Thanksgivingtron777 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 5:12 pmWe've got a shot, Tim! SPC meso page shows the low lifting thru TN and starting to cross over into SE KY. Love that track! London, KY has S winds, Somerset is to the west by about 18 miles with N winds. Looks like the low is going to pass right over the Daniel Boone National Forecast and Laurel Rover Lake. Bee Rock / Rockcastle River. Lots of memories camping down there as a kid with the fam.
