My Forum Absence
I know that this has nothing to do with weather, but I just didn't know where else to post this. I know some of you have been wondering where I've been lately and we took my Dad to the ER Sunday morning. I don't wish to disclose the details as to what happened at this time (as I'm still in shock) but he passed away very quickly in ICU yesterday afternoon. Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. I'll be back posting normally soon. Please keep any comments on this forum. I don't want it all over social media. I trust my weather family. I love you all! Thank you.
Re: My Forum Absence
I know I already talked to you on the side. But Les, you know I love you man, and we are all here for you. You have my number. Call or text me anytime, my friend.

Re: My Forum Absence
Les I am so sorry. Through my job, I had seen that the squad had been called to your residence and assumed your silence on the forum was related. Having lost my husband last year I can tell you that you just have to take things a day at time. You and your family will be in my prayers. May your father's memory be a blessing.

Re: My Forum Absence
I had to take a break... There is so much to do when a family members passes. Arrangements to make, phone calls to make... accounts to cancel online, etc etc. I think I'll make a quick weather related post in our January thread.

I’m sorry for your loss. I’ll keep you all in my prayers
I’ve been there myself, so if you need to talk, you know where to find me.

Re: My Forum Absence
Thank you again all! You guys are such thoughtful people that it truly brings a tear to my eye. Here is my Dad's Obit that is online which is where Eric got the pic from. https://www.linnemannfuneralhomes.com/o ... -m-rhoads/
Also, that pic was taken at Lake Erie during our 2012 St Patrick's Day weekend trip when we had that record warm spell with 80s to near 90 degrees. The lake, as you can see in the pic, was like glass! Even before Dad passed, we always talked about this trip. Very often and very frequent. It truly was the best fishing trip that myself, my brother, and my Dad ever had in our entire lives. It was a once and a lifetime trip. The walleye in the pic is hanging on the wall today. 12 pounds 6 oz. We caught so many 10 and 11 pounders that weekend. Our 5 best fish weighed like 56 pounds or something. We had an 11 pound avg if there would have been a tournament LOL It was freaking unbelievable the big hawgs we caught that weekend. Truly amazing and a trip I will carry with me forever.
The two most important things in life for my Dad was family and fishing. Family to him was #1 and fishing #2. Fireworks probably third as that is where I picked up the bug from!
