NFL 2023-2024 Season Discussion
Football is back! Preseason action begins tonight on NBC at 8pm with the Jets taking on the Browns. Aaron Rodgers is now the Jets QB so it'll be interesting to see how their season goes now as well as Green Bay's without Aaron.

Re: NFL 2023-2024 Season Discussion
Preseason games is something I don't watch to much or worry about how teams play for the most part. Last year the Bengals had new folks on the offensive line and guess what they did not play during the preseason and it showed over the first 3-5 games. Offensive line is so important especially when you have several new pieces. Most of time the preseason is getting those last 5-7 guys on your team as most of the team is already set. The Bengals offense will be fine but the defense has some new players and the player I am looking at the most is safety Dax Hill. He was drafted high last year but was not on the field much until later in the year. Not sure if he had a hard time with the playbook or was outworked. He has something that most players don't have and that is make up speed. He can be out of position but able to get to the receiver because of the make up speed. Problem is you don't want him out of position where this becomes something he does several times a game.

Re: NFL 2023-2024 Season Discussion
I typically don't care much either. It is usually younger guys playing their hearts out trying to make the team. Coaches like to see what they've got so to speak. The only reason I even pay about 25% of my attention to preseason football is for fantasy football purposes. If I see a rookie who looks to be performing well and if they make the team, you can find a "diamond in the ruff" to help you out.tpweather wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 1:29 pm Preseason games is something I don't watch to much or worry about how teams play for the most part. Les I quit fantasy football in either 2006 or 2007. I had been doing some sort of fantasy baseball, football and basketball since 1981. I finally got to the point that the game itself was only about players on my fantasy league. Once I quit then the games became fun again and I can watch football for 12 hours both Saturday and Sunday but the NFL is my number one choice.

I get it Tim! I'm like that a lot. Sometimes, I only care about the players on my Team or the players who are against me on a given week. Love watching NFL Redzone for Fantasy Purposes. You get to see every TD from every game. A lot of FG's and big defensive plays too. Perfect for Fantasy footballers. It takes some getting used to when they jump from game to game to game, but I truly enjoy it.tpweather wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 2:39 pm Les I quit fantasy football in either 2006 or 2007. Yes, becoming the highest paid NFL Player now in history behind Justin Herbert the QB for the Chargers. Joey B will be getting 55 million per year for the next 5 years with another 210 million in incentives should they perform well.MVWxObserver wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 10:19 amSome exciting times ahead for us both Bro!tron777 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 08, 2023 10:15 amTheir hard work is going to pay off this year. He tore his left Achilles tendon. Will be a devastating loss for the Jets after their new acquisition.

But the same time, they proved that they can still win a big game without Rodgers. Their RB played great as well as their defense and more importantly, the Jets QB did not turn the ball over. You keep playing like that, you can beat anybody.MVWxObserver wrote: ↑Tue Sep 12, 2023 9:26 amHe tore his left Achilles tendon. Will be a devastating loss for the Jets after their new acquisition.
