Ok, back to predominately snow now - and this time I'm being honest with you!
Awesome to hear! Now the storm really begins for your neck of the woods. If you are snow at this point and stay all snow the rest of the storm you will definitely not be disappointed.
30 minutes of snow is all I could muster. Switched back to sleet and now nothing. :screaming:
That snow/ sleet line is moving back north

I don’t think it is. It’s always had a little wobble to it.

The FRZ rain zone has actually narrowed a bit with the sleet line eating its northern flank and the rain zone slowly pinching it from the south

Model guidance even this afternoon has QPF to come as snow for CVG in that 0.30-0.40" range so my 4" call is still on target.

You can't even tell a plow went by earlier there is so much sleet out there. Sheesh! This is going to be a bear to shovel. Ugh...

Arcanum Ohio (Darke county) has stayed all snow since 8:00am. Estimates of around 4 inches. Reportedly hard to measure since it's blowing around so much.

Where that heavier precip is snow when it moves into the area you would think 2" rates per hour may occur? Still sleeting here too. Haven't seen a flake of snow yet.

Music to my ears. I think you said about an hour ago they were +3. If the trend continues the NWS calls for more snow will pan out. Its seldom they call for more snow than we expect on the forum. I hope they are right this time. Watching this sleet fall when it could be snow makes me want to :banghead:

PS - shoveled a half-inch of sleet in Fairfield (near Mercy) at 11:30. Have about that much more again.

When I was out earlier, I shoveled about a 1/2" of sleet. Looking out at my crazy kids "sledding" down the driveway, I'd say we have that much or even more again. At least 1" of sleet so far. It's coming down heavy now, some tiny flakes mixing in.

The sleet has picked up intensity out here. Moderate to heavy rates. Grass is starting to get covered up.

I would tell you guys that I've turned over to snow but every time I do, it goes back to sleet. So, we'll just leave it at that! ;)

With the heavier dbz returns moving in, I wonder if could ev. cooling play a role w/ 850 temps?
