Kitchen Sink Storm Feb 2-4, 2022
Re: Kitchen Sink Storm Feb 2-4, 2022
We are now transitioning. There are some fine snow flakes mixed with the sleet. Wind is picking up too and blowing the snow.

Moderate sleet in Monroe right now. Roads are passable right now....as long as you don't gun the truck around turns.

Bringing back the garbage can and It's a sleet fest in Westwood right now, sidewalks on Boudinot Ave are now white. Maybe I was starring at it too long, but I think I saw some very light snow mixing in. Temp is at 29 here.

Re: Kitchen Sink Storm Feb 2-4, 2022
Sleet starting to accumulate now on top of the layer of ice from the frz rain.
Re: Kitchen Sink Storm Feb 2-4, 2022
Just saw some very, very, very fine snowflakes fluttering around with the freezing rain. Heard on the scanner that the sheriffs office is operating on snow emergency level 1. Also heard a call in for a hawk that couldn't fly because its wings are frozen. Never thought about that with birds.

Sleeting, whew! I'd say more sleet than freezing rain at the moment, but still a mix.

Heavy sleet/frz rain here. My short driveway was a challenge and backroads are starting to get slippery.

Continued sleet here. Accumulating so it looks like snow (surfaces appear white from distance).
I should setup a big funnel and make me some slushies!

That’s very much a possibility.Closet Meteorologist wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 9:50 am K-Rob thinks we are gonna have ice until dark.
Re: Kitchen Sink Storm Feb 2-4, 2022
Still frz/rain and no sleet. Roads are icy as well and need the sleet to start making an appearance.

That would all but end our hopes of any good snow totals, correct?Trevor wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 9:54 amThat’s very much a possibility.Closet Meteorologist wrote: ↑Thu Feb 03, 2022 9:50 am K-Rob thinks we are gonna have ice until dark.

Nice icicles hanging from the limbs here with a coating of sleet on top of the ground. A little slush on the street doesn't look too awful bad yet. My driveway though has a good coasting of ice w/sleet on top.
