Mixing with snow, not enough to matter, but surprised how steady it's been. HRRR which is almost always wrong does show moderate snow until the event ends. Hmmmm.

Heavy rain in Oakbrook, looks like it will keep raining for at least an hour.

I think the concern is a quick hit of heavy snow before daybreak, even if it quickly changes over to rain, and a giant mess. Not too sure I blame anyone, this is a nail biter all the way.

Temps dropped so fast humidity trapped in the house, ice on the bottom of the back door. Hasn't been this extreme for years and years. SNow ranges from maybe an inch to 8 inches in a protected corner of the yard. White Christmas guaranteed!
