Went out to do the first round of clearing my car off. Measured 3" on a flat concrete curb. Snow is quite fluffy . Not the best stuff for snowball fights, but I could hear some kids off in the distance apparently having a good time pelting each other.

Re: January 5-6th, 2025 First Legit Winter Storm of the Season
Well, if its any indication of what's coming, looking at the NWS snowfall reports for central Kansas, depending upon location it looks like areas are getting that high end of 8-12 inches, with most reporting in the 4-6 and 6-8 ranges in that band where the 8-12 is showing. Don't know how accurate it ...

All is still quiet down here in the lowest elevation of the tri-state. Seems like down in the bowl is the last to see the snow.

Re: Sunday Wet Snow Thump 1/22/23
Covington checking in. Currently in a band of heavy snow. Not going out to measure , just eyeballing based on the known height of my cinderblock hibachi stand outside my basement door - easily 4 if not 5 inches already. Being as close to the river as I am I expect to be at least 6 to 8 before this ...

Re: Kitchen Sink Storm Feb 2-4, 2022
Still sleeting in Covington. Went out to clear a layer off my car and measured roughly 1.5 inches on a good flat spot on my garden wall. Not as thick a layer of ice under the sleet as I thought there would be. but all that sleet sure sounded pretty pushing it off the car LOL

Checking in from atop a hill bordering Latonia and Taylor Mill. Mix of sleet and freezing rain. Looks like a nice thin sheet of sleet and ice on all surfaces outside the building.

Hi guys, coming out of lurk to see what's up. Hoping the cold comes in quicker and we don't get the ice since I still have to go into work tomorrow.
