here is a quick question/opinion for you all. i am looking to go to Hawaii for a month. do you think i should leave for Dec or Jan . which month do you feel will be worse as far as cold and snow? i would like to be home during the worst of winter and take off while its boring . thanks.

it was not bad here yesterday with highs in the upper 50s. pretty avg for this time of year but they are showing low 70s today and wed. we also currently have wild fires going on here. the lack of rainfall is the biggest issue . the high temps and low dew points just add fuel to the fire

this heat wave coming is bad news for our regions also since we are bone dry. there is burn bans and wild fires breaking out almost on a regular basis now . November will be just as bad if not worse if things dont change

almost record highs this week. crazy to think since its been a beautiful even below avg fall so far. but i guess you knew it was never gonna last. its crazy to think if we end up going above average and still way below avg precip. something is gonna have to change next month. its getting pretty bad

have to admit though this fall has been a real delight as far as temps and sun but man has it been bone dry out there. looking ahead i dont see much hope for rain either. my guess is at some point in Nov we go back to more rain cycles . mother nature will always have a way to balance the checkbook

my early thoughts at this point are for a weak to moderate La Nina for most of the winter and I am thinking we will see average to below avg temps. no idea on snowfall yet. I am more concerned with the upcoming fall then I am with winter
