It looks like we are going to be in a cold and dry pattern next week unless something changes. Once the bitter cold relaxes, then we'll have a better chance at moisture return. I just hope it's more white then wet. :lol:

I've seen this pattern before and although the EURO and the GOOFUS may be on the extreme cold side, all I can see in the upcoming pattern is a lot of static electricity and dry Arctic fronts coming through! I am a little curious on that GOM wave around the 24th or so?

Looking at traffic cams...mainly flurries from here back to the SW. Carroll Co cam is looking better now with a steady light snow ongoing there. I should see the snow picking up IMBY within the next hour.

Les, I see that on radar. Not to be negative in anyway but there seems to be more low intensity areas showing up on radar through southern IN and my quess is that is all part of the course of this storm?

Ok, time to work on the snow blower, Christmas lights , get my car all set for winter travel and then I have to prop up my car port roof with some beams to support the weight of the snow/sleet.

Lucky for me I can never blame the models. I look at them as a tool but at the end of the day I need to forecast what I see. If I am wrong hopefully smart enough to learn something but with this old man you never know.

Double edged sword slower would be more QPF but maybe more mixing where faster would be less QPF but probably all snow

Les, I wonder if that look will mean a main storm track coming out of the Pacific NW and diving to the southern plains and then the southern Gulf states and then out to sea?

I think I'll keep predicting the late starts to the first snowfall as this year we finally got one in before Thanksgiving! I went low for the season also, so maybe we'll finally have a robust season now!
