Re: Monday April 8th Solar Eclipse

Here soon, once models get in that 7-10 day range, we can start tracking cloud cover and / or precip chances for the big day. We really only care about the afternoon period to be honest. I'm going to play the negative Nellie for now as the latest trends on the GFS keeps the progressive pattern with...

Re: Tuesday Night Severe Weather Event 2/27-2/28

I always worry about the power outages, especially when it turns colder like tomorrow. Although we're not expected anything frigid, it still will be cold with some wind chills. Sounds like we'll have to monitor the conditions overnight for some severe weather which can interrupt our sleep patterns, ...

Re: Monday April 8th Solar Eclipse

Returning from Michigan yesterday, saw a semi-trailer parked in a big open field up by Lima or Findley. Painted on the side of the trailer was an advertisement that read "parking spaces available for the eclipse on April 8" with a phone number. Entrepreneurship at it's finest! I took the ...

Re: We Haven't Had Enough...Let's Get Screwed Again! Feb 16-17, 2024

Ok, is there that possibility that this could be upgraded to a WSW with some places getting 4+? I kind of doubt it since those kind of amounts should be isolated. But if the heavier banding turns out to be more widespread, then I suppose there is always a chance, but I wouldn't bet on it. On the ot...

Re: We Haven't Had Enough...Let's Get Screwed Again! Feb 16-17, 2024

I have no clue on the accuracy of the hi Res FV3 as it's an experimental model, but the 12Z run has jumped well north to match the RGEM. A nice 2-4" thumping is being shown for the Tristate area. Ok Les, let's just leave it at that with the hi Res FV3, CMC and the RGEM. We should just not look...

Re: January 2024 Weather Discussion

The GFS is certainly the most bullish on rain to snow this weekend. Not saying it's right because the other models haven't jumped on board. The atmosphere is teetering between plain ole rain and a couple inches of wet snow. Tim touched on this threat. It may not materialize, but the atmosphere is o...
