A day off Thurs and then a 3 games series vs the Cardinals.

I won't be surprised at all if the Cards tie with or overtake the Redlegs for 2nd place by the end of that series!

Good Morning and the Reds are in first place for the last wild card spot. They are 1/2 game up on the Padres and Cardinals. The Padres have a rough schedule with many games against the Dodgers and Giants plus many games on the road. The Cardinals have 2 games left with the Mets then 3 against the padres then they have 2 series with the Brewers and Cubs. The Reds have the easy road home but if you are not playing well it means nothing. If they tie the Cardinals then the play in game would be here since we took beat them 10-9 in games played.

The most challenging series remaining for the Reds is this coming weekend vs the Dodgers and then a 2 games series vs the White Sox the last week of the regular season.

Plain and simple - The Reds cannot hit left-handed pitching. The other team could send a 60 yr old lefty out there and he would prob pitch a shutout. Not too comforting knowing that even if they make the playoffs, its one game against either LA or SF. And its looking more likely LA. Which lefty ya want? Kershaw or Urias?

Fear not - Buccos throw a righty on the mound tonight with a 6.29 ERA. Better win this one, Redlegs!

Cincy was able to salvage 1 out of 3 vs Pburgh as they blanked 'em 1-0 this afternoon!

Next is a last home stand for the regular season of 10 games starting with 3 vs the Powerhouse Dodgers.

Probably will be a slaughter weekend with the unfortunate Redlegs on the receiving end.
