AV Fishing and Hunting Talk

Post by tron777 »

Post about anything fishing, boating, hunting and supplies etc here. Post pics of your catch and your own fishing trips!

For me, I'll get the action started. Before the old forum burned down, Bgoney had returned from a great bass trip down south and Lake Erie is in my future come April in Port Clinton. Also, my brother will be fishing the MWC again this year so I'll post those kinds of things in this thread from time to time as well. Fish on my friends!

For the hunters out there, how was deer season for you all? :D Share venison and fish recipes too in our Cooking Forum. :D

Congrats to your brother. I think I saw where Erie has gone down from last years record levels , still a bit high , but manageable . We were at St. Clair last summer and it was amazing how high the water was.

Thank you Sir! Due to those record levels, depending on the wind direction, there has been a lot of issues with coastal flooding over the last several years. Port Clinton has had quite a few issues. Due to less of a snowpack this winter, that should help to bring the levels down a bit. We'll see what happens with rainfall this spring. So far it has been below avg for the Lake Erie water shed.

Heading to Cass Lake, MN Sept 11-19th. My Brother has a shot at getting MWC Team of the Year honors! If our math is right, they need an 11th place finish or higher to capture those honors. The tournament itself is Sept 17-18th. This will be my third time fishing there and it's a blast! Can't wait! :)

My fishing buddy is headed to Okeechobee in a couple weeks. I'm going to pass on this trip. Last year was great , bit I'd rather do the trip to St.clair in the spring or fall. About 10 hrs less of driving, if you know what I mean

Awesome! I'll be going to Lake Erie in April for the MWC Sandusky, OH tournament. Not sure if I'll go out before then or not. Probably will depend on the weather.

I brought home about a dozen crappie / bluegills to eat. Threw back a ton of smaller ones. My cousin even caught a few decent largemouth. 18" 3 pounders or so

Our team got 15th place in the MWC and 14th on the Lewt side. Cashed several checks for about 3k total. This was out of 176 boats!

Next one is in Green Bay WI in May.

I have been out a few times for trout and have done well each outing. I was just out Friday morning at my favorite creek and caught about 8 of them and kept 2 for eating one was 14 and the other almost 17 inches. I was actually on a hunt for morels which just happen to be near my favorite fishing spots. there were no morels to be found which was a huge downer. I may have been too late or maybe they dont come up every year I dont know.
