 Raleigh, NC had it's 6th coldest winter on record tying 1948
From RDU NWS: Raleigh had its 6th coldest winter on record, tied with the winter of 1948. The average temperatures this winter was 38.6 deg., the coldest since 1978. Raleigh experienced 9 days of snowfall versus the average 3 days of snowfall. Total snowfall amount for this winter was 7.2" which was 1.4" above the normal snow amount of 5.8". This year was the 12th wettest, but 21st snowiest on record for RDU.
