Re: April 2024 Weather Discussion
The severe parameters for later today and tonight have steadily grown over the recent model runs and also from the current surface and upper air observations for the region. Be aware!! If you noticed in the post above , SPC plans to update the day one outlook by mid morning , probably after their as...

Re: April 2024 Weather Discussion
When the region had numerous severe weather a couple weeks ago we had shear in the 60-70 range. , with DPs in the 50s. Tuesday some models have shear in the 80-90 range, and DPs in the mid 60s

Re: March 2024 Weather Discussion
That 74 event is probably why I’m a weather nut fascinated with how weather works. I remember going outside and collecting the golf ball to baseball size hail that every 13 year old would do, right? In my defense , the sun was shining as it was happening ( is there such a thing as a hailbow?) From m...

Re: March 2024 Weather Discussion
Bgoney I agree with their thought process. This system or lets say several pieces of energy over the next 5 days or so looks to be a pattern changer. Can we get some decent rains without the severe portion and not sure but when you see a front just sitting around waiting gathering moisture and just...

Re: World news: Anything popular , amazing, or just plain stupid
I’m sure this isn’t new to anybody and we’ve probably brought this up before , but I know several teachers in public schools , when a student identifies themselves as something other than what they are, they and the other students have to cow-tow to their needs or demands or face a reprimand. And , ...

Re: March 2024 Weather Discussion
SPC ramping up language for Tuesday Monday/Day 4 An upper-level trough is forecast to move eastward across the Four Corners region on Monday, as strong southwest mid-level flow remains in place from the southern Plains into the mid Mississippi Valley. Early in the day, an east-to-west boundary is fo...

Reading up on the ongoing switcheroo to LaNina and looks like a fairly rapid one at that . Sub-surface cool pool has rapidly intensified/expanded since the new year with mostly easterlies dominating. Next 3 months those cool waters will finally break to the surface and spread across 3.4 region. Rig...

Re: March 2024 Weather Discussion
Trends from 12z are an even weaker return flow of moisture into the OV. Makes sense since the cutting low is so far NW and the low off the SEcoast essentially is cutting off moisture return into our region (or a lack of a SEridge ). Not changing any amounts yet but expect to lower amounts if trends ...

Re: March 2024 Weather Discussion
Brrr, seems like we’re in a pattern where we can’t get a nice weekends worth of weather. Looks like Tuesdays precip is going to be in the .50-1.00” range regionally. Not concerned with severe storms for our area, the return flow for the OV remains weak atm and the warm temps/DPs combo still doesn’t ...

Re: Clermont County eagle cam
I just noticed the egg has hatched. Also, I thought the nest was in Clermont County, but I was wrong. The nest is actually in the city of Cincinnati, south of Lunken Airport where the Little Miami river empties into the Ohio. There was two eggs but I’ve only seen the one hatched so far. They weren’...
